This summer in Hortus botanicus Leiden you’ll be able to enjoy long summer nights on every Wednesday evening in July and August. The garden and glasshouses are open until 21.00 (entry until 20.30).

During a sultry summer evening it’s obvious that you’ll be able to enjoy the outside atmosphere during a nice stroll but, there are a lot of other things to do as well. Admire one of our crown jewels like the giant waterlily Victoria amazonica or sit back and listen to the classical music of the Hortus Festival. Also, the Hortus Grand Café with terrace is open until 20.00 for a drink and a small bite.

Music: Hortus Festival – July 25 and 26, August 1, 2 en 8 and 9
On several evenings you can enjoy evening concerts of the Hortus Festival, the greenest festival for classical chamber music. Wine and dine before or after the concert? The Hortus Grand Café serves an alternating festival menu during the festival. Vouchers are available in combination with concert tickets in the ticket shop.
